I simply can’t imagine

My oldest daughter was married on January 2nd. Needless to say, the holidays were CRAZY. We had a lot of fun with so much of the family here. WOW! We ate so much food! But let me tell you, when the holidays were over, and the wedding day came to a successful conclusion, I was seriously wanting some personal time in solitary confinement. Why? I suspect a solitary confinement cell is a very, very, very quiet place. I needed some quiet.

The last week or so has been just that: calm and quiet. I looked around the house yesterday and realized (for the 50th time this week) that the house feels weird. One of my children is missing. Sure, she has come to visit a few times in the last couple of weeks, but it just isn’t the same. She leaves. She leaves to go home.

I simply can’t imagine what it will be like when all of my children are gone.
