Where would we be without the life-saving skills of doctors, nurses, and technicians? I'm sure all of us have been touched by their skills many times in behalf of ourselves and those we loved. Thanks for sharing your story with us, Daron!

Thanks for the comments folks. I have thought a lot about this review in the past day or so. I had this nagging question: WHY did I like the book so much? I finally have an answer:

1. I was born with a heart defect. The first few years of my life were sickly. I had corrective surgery when I was strong enough, right before my 5th birthday.

2. I have children of my own, thankfully, all healthy.

My issues were no where near what the issues were with these two girls and their family. But, I have had a small taste of hospital life. I am grateful for hospitals and doctors. At the same time, I hate hospitals.

Not trying to get personal here, but now I know, at least for myself, why this story struck a chord with me. Thanks again for your comments!

One of these days if I branch out and break my Sci-Fi/Fantasy addiction, and just get into good meat-and-potatoes fiction, I'll have to start with the list of books you've reviewed, Daron. Good stuff.

Thank you, Daron, for your kind words. I suppose my name is well-known in the blog-o-sphere, and with anyone who reads credits in books because I have some great writer friends who are kind enough to thank me in their books as well. If anyone would like to buy a copy of When Hearts Conjoin, they can be ordered online at www.utahtwins.com or www.whenheartsconjoin.com. Thanks!
