In the near future I will have a new short story published in the anthology being compiled by Michael Young called “Sing We Now Of Christmas”. This anthology is quite unique in that the stories are all based on favorite Christmas carols and hymns, and there are twenty five chapters that work as an advent calendar, should the reader wish to read a chapter per day.
One other thing to note, all profits from the project will be donated to the National Down Syndrome Society. Please consider purchasing this book as a gift this Christmas! I will keep you updated with purchase information when I get it. The book will be released in paperback and as a Kindle format ebook.
My story is called “The Dayspring” and is based on the hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”, one of my very favorite selections of Christmas music. I chose that hymn to write about for a very specific reason: It is not just a hymn about Christ’s birth, but it is also a prayer for the Second Coming of Christ to arrive so that Israel might be saved. In these troubled times, I am sure that many of you feel like I do: The Second Coming cannot possibly come soon enough.
Head on over to the official website for the advent anthology, and see if any of your favorite authors are included in the book!
P.S. Michael Young is a great guy. He is currently out of work, so go check out his website (link at the top of this post), and if you have any leads, let him know. My thanks to everyone who contributed to the project, especially the production team: Michael Young, Tristi Pinkston – editor (also my editor), James Curwen – cover/design (also my cover designer for THIRTY-SIX), and Ben Crowder – typesetting.
UPDATE: Here are the links for purchase, please support this great cause!
